The Sanitary Records Unit of the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica issued the circular MS-DRPIS-UR-1588-2023 on June 22, 2023, indicating that when a product presents frontal labeling with the following stamps or images, it will be mandatory for the importer or distributor to hide said information from the original label, so that the information contained within such stamps or images will not confuse the consumer.
For said compliance, the Ministry granted six months for the exhaustion of labeling on products with current sanitary registration that contains frontal labeling similar to these nutritional warnings.
Likewise, it is important to remember that for registrations, renewals, and post-registration changes presented after this date, the label used in said procedures must not display any stamp of such kind
