BLP – Newsflash: The Central American Single Declaration (DUCA) enters into force

The Ministry of Finance, through the General Directorate of Customs (DGA), and the Central Reserve Bank, through the Center for Import and Export Procedures (CIEX), informed that according to the provisions of Resolution No. 410-2019 of the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration (COMIECO) the Central American Single Declaration (DUCA) enters into force as of May 7, 2019.

The DUCA integrates the three main customs declarations that support international merchandise trade in Central America: The Central American Single Form (FAUCA), the Declaration for the International Terrestrial Customs Transit (DUT), and the Merchandise Declaration (DM). It is a measure of facilitation of procedures for Central American and regional merchants, as it implies a further step towards Central American economic integration.

The DUCA will be applied in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama as of the mentioned date.
