Jeimy has over 15 years of experience in the legal profession. She specializes in Labor & Employment, Immigration, and Corporate & Commercial matters.
Chambers and Partners, a renowned legal publication, has included Jeimy in their “Associate to Watch” list based on her professional growth every year.
Regarding the Labor & Employment practice area, Jeimy has extensive experience in staff hiring processes, drafting of disciplinary regimes, preparation and termination of contracts, internal work regulations, rights and obligations arising from the social security system, collective bargaining agreements, and calculation of termination labor benefits. In addition, Jeimy represents and assists multinational companies in connection with administrative processes before many government institutions. In Immigration, she has experience handling several administrative procedures established for the prosecution of residences and permits for persons willing to settle down in the country or being relocated for labor purposes. As for Corporate & Commercial, she advises local and multinational companies in their day-to-day affairs.
She joined BLP as an associate in 2016, after working at the law firm LatamLex for over fifteen years, where she used to serve as Head of the Labor Law Department.
Jeimy obtained a degree in Law and Social Sciences from Universidad Mariano Gálvez of Guatemala in 2009, and completed postgraduate studies in Contemporary Commercial Law at Universidad de San Carlos of Guatemala in 2010. In addition, she completed all courses for a Master’s Degree in Labor Law and Business Administration at Universidad Mariano Gálvez in 2011.
She is currently a member of the Guatemalan Bar and Notary Association (CANG) and of the International Bar Association (IBA).
Jeimy currently lives in Guatemala City.
