Jorge has over 10 years of experience in the legal profession. He specializes in Tax, where he has experience structuring tax strategies and tax risk analyses, and is knowledgeable in tax litigation issues and tax consultancy services, as well as transfer pricing and international taxation.
He joined BLP as an associate in 2014, after being a Partner at Obregón Castro & Asociados for three years. He also worked as Notary and Legal Supervisor at Consultores y Asesores en Microfinanzas in Nicaragua and as an independent attorney.
Jorge obtained his Law degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma of Nicaragua in 2006 and has three Master’s Degrees; two from Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional in Costa Rica in Corporate Law and Tax Law in 2013 and 2014, as well as a Master’s Degree in International Taxation from Universidad Católica de Murcia España in 2017. He also graduated as Specialist in Transfer Pricing from Centro Interamericano de Administraciones Tributarias in Panama in 2015.
Jorge is president of the Tax Research and Tax Intelligence Center (CITRIF) and has penned several articles on tax topics, he is also the author of the book “Compendio de Sentencias Tributarias Administrativas, 2007-2015”.
He has served a professor at different universities in Tax Law, Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions. Jorge has also served as a professor at the Nicaraguan Public Accountants Professional Association.
Jorge currently lives in Carazo, Nicaragua.
