Renowned former diplomatic official joins BLP as Special Counsel from Mexico.
Strengthening our international presence and responding to the business needs of our clients, BLP is pleased to announce that renowned Costa Rican diplomat, Gabriela Jiménez has been appointed as Special Counsel.
Gabriela has had an outstanding career in foreign service. A lawyer by profession, she has resided in Mexico since 2010. From 1998 to 2005 she was Minister Counselor at the Costa Rican Embassy in Paris. For four years, from 2006 to 2010, she was Chief of Protocol to the former President of Costa Rica and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Oscar Arias Sánchez. In recognition of her ability and experience, she was appointed Costa Rica’s Ambassador to Mexico from 2010 to 2014. At the end of her mission, the Mexican government awarded her the Águila Azteca Award which is the highest distinction granted for services given to Mexico or humankind by foreigners, including world leaders. Subsequently, she served as Vice President and Director of Institutional Relations of Grupo Alemán (GALEM).
Gabriela’s addition strengthens BLP's international capabilities. Her main role will be to manage business opportunities between Mexico and Central America, as well as between Mexico and the BLP representation office in Madrid.
