BLP reinforces its practice areas of Banking & Finance and Energy & Infrastructure with the promotion of Julio Castellanos to the firm’s partnership, increasing the number of BLP partners throughout Central America to 33.
On the promotion, managing partner Luis Castro expressed the significance of Julio’s promotion to the firm: "The promotion follows the firm's strategy of advising clients under the comprehensive approach of a business vision." The two practices work together on similar issues for the same clients, including investment banks and multilateral organizations that rely on the firm for financing and restructuring advice.
Julio joined the BLP team as an associate in 2011. With a Master in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University, he has gained vast experience over a period of 17 years representing international and multilateral financial institutions in multi-jurisdictional credit operations in the largest energy and infrastructure projects in the region. He has also led negotiations of public works concession contracts and their financing. Julio actively participates in regional advice on the structuring and financing of public infrastructure projects in the key sectors of land and air transport and renewable energy.
With pride in our team's unrivaled talent, we once again welcome our new partner.
