At the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards ceremony, Latin America 2019, BLP received the award for “Most Inclusive Firm for LGBT + Lawyers” recognizing the company's innovative inclusion and diversity policies. In addition, our partner Vivian Liberman was recognized as “Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year - Central America” for her dedication and commitment to promote the advancement of women in the legal profession.

Chambers Diversity and Inclusion aims to encourage the advancement of inclusion in the global legal profession through research, training, workshops, forums, and awards.

The “Most Inclusive Firm for LGBT + Lawyers” award celebrates BLP's commitment to increase the opportunities and representation of lawyers that are part of the LGBT + community. This commitment has been ratified with internal policies to promote inclusion and diversity, as well as publicly displayed by BLP being a signatory to the Declaration of San José: 10 principles against discrimination based on sexual orientation, identity and gender expression and in favor of the promotion of the Human Rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people (LGBTI).

Vivian Liberman’s award for “Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year - Central America” recognizes her dedication and commitment to gender diversity programs and her active role in organizing events, workshops, and forums that help promote the advancement of women in the legal profession, leading to realization of the following achievements:

  • Inspired hundreds of girls to fulfill their professional dreams through the Inspiring Girls CR Foundation, of which she is founder and president.
  • Made BLP a firm that has parity of women and men in decision-making positions.
  • As a result of our gender equality and equity policies obtained diversity in all of our work teams and legal practices while assuring that 50% of our legal population are women.
  • Won recognition of Good Labor Practices for Gender Equality granted by the National Women's Institute (INAMU) to BLP for two consecutive years.
  • Promoted the advancement of women in the legal profession through work as Coordinator of the Costa Rica Chapter of Women in The Profession
