By communication SENASA-SFE-R001-2020 of March 27, 2020, the National Animal Health Service and the State Phytosanitary Service authorized the documentary review by the officials of those institutions, based on copies, impressions or simple photocopies of the original documents.
  • Verification: The authenticity of the international veterinary certificate will be verified digitally with those countries that have digital verification systems, otherwise the Competent Authority of the exporting country must provide SENASA with the way to certify the authenticity of the document, prior to the entry of the commodity.   • The authenticity of the phytosanitary certificate will be verified digitally with those countries that have digital verification systems, otherwise, the National Organization for Phytosanitary Protection (NPPO) of the exporting country, must provide the SFE with the way to certify the authenticity of the previous document upon entry of the merchandise.   • Responsibility: The auxiliaries of the customs public function, importers, exporters and, in general, the users of the inspection and control services in charge of SENASA and the SFE, as appropriate by law, must keep and preserve the original documentation once they receive it.
  • Post Control: The competent dependencies of SENASA and the SFE will subsequently verify the original documents, either once the emergency has ended or concomitantly to the development of this, if users get to have the original documents.
