Fernando is a BLP Senior Associate in the Labor & Employment and Global Mobility & Relocation practices in Guatemala.

In the labor area, he has extensive experience advising employers regarding compliance with employer obligations, as well as the preparation and review of employment contracts, internal regulations, and the application of the labor disciplinary regime. He is an expert in labor terminations and negotiations, as well as advising on conciliatory hearings at the General Labor Inspectorate, Center for Mediation and Direct Negotiation of Guatemala.

He has advised on the planning and execution of labor due diligence processes for sales, purchases and acquisitions of companies, preventing administrative sanctions for clients. He also has experience in advising on Occupational Health and Safety matters for national and transnational companies. He is an active litigator in civil, commercial, criminal, and labor matters in courts throughout the country.

He joined the BLP team in 2021, after serving as a senior associate at a prominent Guatemalan firm.
