Jose is a BLP Director in the San Salvador office. He specializes in the practice of Business Law and Banking & Finance.
In Business Law, he has experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, preparation of shareholders agreements, as well as the elaboration of commercial contracts. He has advised companies in fulfilling their regulatory obligations in sectors such as telecommunications and aviation. He also advises on compliance with applicable competition laws.
In Banking & Finance, he has advised banks and multilateral financial entities, as local counsel, in financings, syndicated loans, project finance (including energy projects), buy-outs, bonds issuance in international markets and securitizations. He has also assisted in the preparation of opinions on the implementation of Fintech in El Salvador and counseled on bond and stock market regulations in the country and has assisted local banks in their preparations for LIBOR transition.
He joined the BLP team as an associate in 2020. He was previously a lawyer at Travieso Evans Arria Rengel & Paz in Venezuela.
