By circular DGA-006-2020 of March 19, 2020, the General Directorate of Customs authorized Free Trade Zone companies to take the following measures while the National Emergency Decree remains in force.
Transfer of computer equipment and furniture
- Transfer the necessary and indispensable computer equipment and furniture, so that the employees can carry out the functions authorized under the regime in the form of telework and continue with the work; this includes equipment that guarantees the basic conditions of occupational health.
- Keep an inventory with the number, description and main characteristics of each asset that leaves the authorized area, name and identification of the person assigned to use such equipment, as well as the location of their home or place where the employee will work.
- Inform the Customs Office of Control with a copy to PROCOMER to permit the corresponding control of entries and exits.
- Free trade zone companies will be responsible for damages, breakdowns, theft or loss of mobile equipment that is removed from the area authorized as a Free Zone, with the obligation to pay the corresponding taxes, except in cases of force majeure or a fortuitous case properly proven.
